GTA V Weapon Database

This topic is dedicated to all weapons, which could be possibly featured in the game according to screenshots, artwork and trailers. Feel free to add missing weapons, their names and additional information.

According to the Gamer Informer preview article, GTA V will feature the biggest weapon arsenal in the whole franchise so far. "Ammu-Nation" gun stores will return to the series.

In the same article Vice president of creative Dan Houser was quoted about shooting in the game: "We feel like we've evolved it on from where we had it in any previous game a long way. And not just in terms of how it works, but also in the terms of the core mechanics of how you play the game."

He said about melee combat: "It's better than we've had in the past. How far we can push it - we will see depending on resources we allocate to it. It's never going to be as big a deal as shooting with the way that we make the game, but we do want it to feel really fun and strong."

In an Interview with IGN, Rockstar producer Leslie Benzies said about acquiring weapons in GTA V: “Weapons are slightly different since we have to find a balance between giving the player freedom and giving them a challenge. Letting players have any weapon they want, whenever they want it, would make earlier missions less of a challenge and less satisfying. That being said, as the player makes progress through the game they will build up a satisfying arsenal.”

Pictures of the same guns with different attachments on them suggest that gun customization could be featured in the game.

1)unknown pistol
There are different opinions on this pistol. Possible models include Glock 20L and Heckler & Koch Mark 23.

2)Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92 (also Beretta 96 and Beretta 98) is a series of semi-automatic pistols designed and manufactured by Beretta of Italy. The model 92 was designed in 1972 and production of many variants in different calibers continues today. The United States armed forces replaced the Model 1911A1 .45 ACP pistol in 1985 with the military spec Beretta 92F, the M9.

The FS variant has an enlarged hammer pin that fits into a groove on the underside of the slide. The main purpose is to stop the slide from flying off the frame to the rear if it cracks. This was in response to reported defective slides during U.S. Military testing.

3)Colt M1911
The M1911 is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, recoil-operated handgun chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge, which served as the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985. In total, the United States procured around 2.7 million M1911 and M1911A1 pistols in military contracts during its service life. The M1911 was replaced by the M9 pistol as the standard U.S. sidearm in the early 1990s, but due to its popularity among users, it has not been completely phased out. Modern M1911 variants are still in use by some units within the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. Designed by John Browning, the M1911 is the best-known of his designs to use the short recoil principle in its basic design. The pistol was widely copied, and this operating system rose to become the preeminent type of the 20th century and of nearly all modern centerfire pistols.

1)Mini Uzi
The Uzi is a family of Israeli open bolt, blowback-operated submachine guns. Smaller variants are considered to be machine pistols. The Uzi was one of the first weapons to use a telescoping bolt design which allows for the magazine to be housed in the pistol grip for a shorter weapon. The first Uzi submachine gun was designed by Major uzi Gal in the late 1940s. The prototype was finished in 1950; first introduced to IDF special forces in 1954, the weapon was placed into a general issue two years later. The Uzi has found use as a personal defense weapon by rear-echelon troops, officers, artillery troops and tankers, as well as a frontline weapon by elite light infantry assault forces. The Uzi has been exported to over 90 countries. Over its service lifetime, it has been manufactured by Israel Military Industries, FN Herstal, and other manufacturers. From the 1960s through the 1980s, Uzi submachine guns were sold to more military and police markets than any other submachine gun ever made.

The Mini-Uzi is a smaller version of the regular Uzi, first introduced in 1980. The Mini-Uzi is 600 mm (23.62 inches) long or 360 mm (14.17 inches) long with the stock folded. Its barrel length is 197 mm (7.76 inches), its muzzle velocity is 375 m/s (1230 f/s) and its effective range is 100 m. It has a greater automatic rate of fire of 950 rounds per minute due to the shorter bolt.

2)Heckler & Koch MP5 A5
The Heckler & Koch MP5 is a 9mm submachine gun developed in the 1960s by a team of engineers from the German small arms manufacturer Heckler & Koch GmbH (H&K). There are over 100 variants, including a semi-automatic version. The MP5 is one of the most widely used submachine guns in the world, having been adopted by 40 nations and numerous military, law enforcement, intelligence, and security organizations.

The pictured weapon has a R.I.S handguard and a retractable shoulder stock.

1)Norinco Type 56-2
The Norinco Type 56-2 is an improved variant and copy of the Russian AKM. Introduced in 1980, with a side-folding stock. Mainly manufactured for export and rare in China.

The pictured weapon has an only a suppressor, whereas in this picture the weapon from the man on the left has a suppressor and a flashlight and the weapon from the man in the middle has a suppressor and an aimpoint/ACOG.

2)Colt AR-15 SBR
The AR-15 is a lightweight, 5.56 mm, magazine-fed, semi-automatic rifle, with a rotating-lock bolt, actuated by direct impingement gas operation or long/short stroke piston operation. It is manufactured with the extensive use of aluminum alloys and synthetic materials. The AR-15 was first built by ArmaLite as a selective fire rifle for the United States armed forces. Because of financial problems, ArmaLite sold the AR-15 design to Colt. The select-fire AR-15 entered the US military system as the M16 rifle. Colt then marketed the Colt AR-15 as a semi-automatic version of the M16 rifle for civilian sales in 1963. The name "AR-15" is a Colt registered trademark, which refers only to the semi-automatic rifle.

The pictured weapon has an "Aimpoint Comp M2" sight and a suppressor, whereas the weapon in this picture has only an "Aimpoint Comp M2". Both could be the semi-automatic civil variant or the selective fire military variant.

3)IMI Tavor TAR-21
The TAR-21 is an Israeli bullpup assault rifle chambered for 5.56×45mm NATO ammunition with a selective fire system, selecting between semi-automatic mode and full automatic fire mode. Since 2009, it has been selected as the standard issued weapon of the Israeli infantry.

Bullpup rifles are configured in a layout in which the bolt carrier group is placed behind the pistol grip; this shortens the overall length but does not sacrifice barrel length. The TAR-21 provides carbine length, but rifle muzzle velocity. The bullpup design is also used to minimize the silhouette of soldiers and to maximize effectiveness in turning corners in urban warfare.

4)Heckler & Koch HK416
The Heckler & Koch HK416 is an assault rifle designed and manufactured by Heckler & Koch. It uses the AR-15 platform, originally conceived as an improvement to the Colt M4 carbine with the notable inclusion of a gas-piston system derived from the Heckler & Koch G36. Customers have the option of purchasing a new upper receiver, buffer and drive spring to refurbish M4s or buying a completely new build HK416. The HK416 is part of the Individual Carbine competition to replace the M4.

The pictured weapon has most likely a telescopic fixed tube stock. Here are more screenshots (1, 2) of the weapon. The clips of both guns have different colors, one is gray and the other one is black.

1)fictional sniper rifle
The pictured weapon is most likely a mashup between different kinds of rifles. The operating part and the buttstock is from an AR-15 rifle. The chassis which looks like a fiber glass one and the heavy barrel are for bolt action rifles. The muzzlebrake for .308 rifles are based on a L96 AWP rifle. The sniper rifle is missing a gas tube which it would need to operate.
